Some things happen because they want to happen. Others just happen. The Splippleman was so... It started in September 2010, and it did so because ... because we wanted to.
A band’s name history always needs to have multiple versions. They are:
1. He who splipples. Verb missing from English – to splipple: making something of good quality to impact good quality people.
2. He who comes from Splippleland (virtual space of the real dreamers).
3. From play fights of the boys Brunão and Ra with his father: spli POW! – Gotcha!
Professional doctor. Music student. He studied piano, saxophone, guitar, bass, acoustic guitar and never learned to play as well as he’d like, but learned to like what he plays very much. Performer and composer. He dubbed known singers as a child, now he just dubs himself. Former member of Genéricos, Doc'n'roll and The Molition. Lead singer of Splippleman.
Fabio’s been into music since he was 3 years old, when he used to ask to listen to LPs of the Beatles and Elvis at home. Self-taught musician, his first contact with an acoustic guitar was at age 12, and when he turned 13, he began playing the guitar.
Guitar teacher since 1992, Fabio was a member of Sinhá Vitória band since its formation, in 2000, and became prestigious in the national music scene, and also got many compliments and nice comments on his style.
Almost 10 years later, he started a new project: the band Supertônica, in which, besides playing the guitar, he also sang and wrote most of the songs.
Nowadays, Fabio is studying to get a Bachelor's Degree in Music at the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná and solo guitarist of Splippleman.
Bass player since 1990, when he joined the band Relespública, from Curitiba, he has a great influence of rock and jazz improvisation in his way of playing. Meanwhile, he has produced and recorded in-studio bands, taught music and bass techniques and played at some concerts. Currently, he’s part of the Splippleman and the Relespública bands.
Main influences: John Entwistle, Paul McCartney, Jack Bruce, John Paul Jones.
Moon has always been a drummer and has played with Relespública for many years. His nickname shows the great rock ‘n’ roll influence in his style and the huge respect that he has for his idol and source of inspiration Keith Moon, The Who’s drummer. Always dedicated and accurate, Moon gives all the support he can to the new bands and artists and is constantly perfecting his own techniques – he has to make it up to such a special nickname after all!
